The University of Southampton Malaysia's Foundation Year students (2023/24) recently participated in an immersive Industry and Community Engagement (ICE) Programme integral to their academic curriculum.
This innovative initiative extended beyond conventional classroom learning, incorporating a blend of in-campus workshops and talks delivered by both internal and external experts.
Additionally, students had the opportunity to gain real-world insights through field trips to various factories and companies. What set this program apart was its concluding requirement: instead of the customary PowerPoint slides or traditional reflection/report writing, students were tasked with crafting video presentations.
This unique approach not only challenged students to showcase their understanding in a dynamic and creative format but also emphasised the University's commitment to fostering versatile communication skills crucial for success in both academic and professional realms.
