The University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) is proud to celebrate two remarkable young prodigies, Isaac Gew and Jacob Gew, whose outstanding academic accomplishments have secured them a place in the Malaysia Book of Records. At just 13 and 12 years old, respectively, the brothers have demonstrated extraordinary brilliance in mathematics and engineering, setting national milestones and inspiring students across Malaysia.
Isaac, aged 13, has achieved feats that place him far ahead of his peers. He is officially recognised as:
- The youngest student to enrol in a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
- The youngest to achieve an A in A-Level Mathematics — at just 10 years old*
His achievements reflect not only his intellectual capability but also his passion and determination to push boundaries in STEM education.
Following closely in his brother’s footsteps, 12-year-old Jacob has made history as:
- The youngest to achieve an A in IGCSE Mathematics — at the age of 8*
- The youngest to be offered admission to a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
Jacob’s natural talent, curiosity, and drive exemplify what it means to be a true trailblazer in academia.
