Priscilla Ting's career is a testament to dedication, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Beginning her professional journey with early part-time roles as a Retail Assistant, Medical Receptionist, and Education Consultant in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, Priscilla quickly demonstrated a drive to build real-world skills from a young age.
Her academic path at the University of Southampton laid a strong foundation. As a Student Blogger, Student Ambassador, and Student Buddy, she was not only immersed in engineering studies but also passionately engaged in campus life, sharing her experiences and inspiring others. During her university years, she took her passion for engineering further, interning at Dyson in Malaysia and the University of Southampton’s Computational and Engineering Design (CED) Group, in collaboration with Amazon Charitable Trust — gaining practical skills in SOLIDWORKS, MATLAB, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
Priscilla's commitment to making a difference extended beyond academics. As a marketing team member and blogger for TEDxUoSM, she helped shape conversations and platforms for ideas worth spreading.
Stepping into her professional engineering career, she joined the UK Atomic Energy Authority as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer, where she honed her expertise in project management, contract management, and engineering simulation using Ansys Mechanical.
Her journey took a monumental leap forward when she joined Rolls-Royce, a world leader in aerospace innovation. Starting as a Graduate Civil Aerospace Engineer, Priscilla quickly made her mark, contributing to systems engineering projects while taking on significant leadership roles. She served as an ECP Civil Aerospace Representative, STEM Trailer Lead, and Southampton UCT Diversity Lead, championing inclusion and engagement in the engineering community.
Today, as an Aerothermal Engineer at Rolls-Royce, based in Derby, UK, Priscilla works at the cutting edge of aerospace technology, helping to shape the future of flight. With skills spanning public relations, systems engineering, and aerothermal expertise, she is not only advancing technical frontiers but also setting a powerful example of leadership, community engagement, and innovation.
