A team of talented students from the University of Southampton Malaysia, Team Soton4Health, has been selected as finalists in the H-Innovation Startup Accelerator 2025, organised by Disruptive Doctors 2025.
The team’s remarkable journey was guided by dedicated mentors — Dr. Grace Chai Mei Ting, Dr. Rusyaizila Ramli, Ir. Dr. Ahmad Syahrin Idris, and Dr. Azam Ahmad Bakir — representing the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Computer Science, and School of Mechanical Engineering. Their combined expertise has played a crucial role in shaping the students’ innovation and technical development.
Team Soton4Health’s prototype integrates engineering precision, intelligent computing, and human-centred design to:
- Support rehabilitation through adaptive, user-friendly features
- Restore confidence in daily mobility
- Enhance independence and quality of life for the elderly
This achievement stands as a testament to the mentors’ commitment and the students’ drive to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. The team — comprising Adlina Binti Ibrahim Edward, Kala Rudtrani A/P Mohana Krishna, Dhurga Dharani Mohana Krishnan, and Pau Zhang Hong Isabel — has demonstrated how collaboration across disciplines can lead to impactful healthcare innovation.
At the University of Southampton Malaysia, we believe in empowering students to create solutions that make a difference. Through strong mentorship and interdisciplinary learning, our students are developing technologies that offer not just more years of life, but better years to live.
