Project Abstract
Driver fatigue is known to be one of the leading causes of road traffic accidents around the globe. It is crucial to solve this problem to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target 3.6, which aims to half the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents by 2030. One of the solutions that raises the interest of multiple researchers is the development of a fatigue recognition system based on the eye state of the driver.
This recognition system can generally be divided into 3 stages, i.e. face and eye detection stage, feature extraction stage, and fatigue level classification stage. This project focuses on developing face and eye detection, face feature extraction and fatigue level analysis using a Convolution Neural Network.
