Dr. Ch’ng joined University of Southampton Malaysia as a Lecturer in 2017. Currently, she teaches Materials. Prior to joining the university, she worked at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus as a lecturer at Mechanical Engineering for 2 years upon obtaining her Ph.D. During her employment with Taylor’s University, she was actively involved in collaboration research project with Panasonic Air-Conditioning R&D Malaysia and Continental Tyre R&D Malaysia.

She received bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering with first class honor from University of Malaya. Upon completion of her degree, she worked as a Project Engineer where she involved in the preparation, planning and resource forecasting for a production plant in Penang. Dr. Ch’ng then pursued Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in University of Malaya. Her Ph.D. focused on the constitutive modelling of rubber degradation under coupled deformation-diffusion as part of a collaboration project with Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France.
