At the University of Southampton Malaysia, practical learning is at the core of our Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) programme. On 18 March, our students took a significant step in their learning journey by conducting two essential tests: the Power Supply Unit (PSU) circuit testing and a housing water spray test.
These experiments provided students with the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. The PSU circuit testing allowed them to assess the performance, efficiency, and safety of power supply circuits—an essential component in numerous electronic devices. By conducting these tests, students gained insights into circuit behavior, voltage regulation, and overall system stability.
Following the circuit tests, students proceeded with a housing water spray test. This experiment evaluated the resilience of electrical enclosures against moisture exposure, a critical aspect in designing electronics for various environmental conditions. Through this hands-on experience, students learned how to implement protective measures that ensure long-term durability and reliability of electronic components.
Experiential learning opportunities like these help students develop essential problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and an industry-ready mindset. By engaging in practical applications, they enhance their ability to design, test, and improve electrical and electronic systems, equipping them for the challenges of the engineering field.
At the University of Southampton Malaysia, we are committed to providing a dynamic and interactive learning environment that prepares our students for successful careers in engineering. Through hands-on projects and real-world testing, we continue to shape the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
