On 9 October 2024, the University of Southampton Malaysia’s (UoSM) IEEE Student Branch together with SMAS, Robotics, Computer Science Student Club and IMECHE hosted Station Game Day, a vibrant and interactive event designed to welcome new students into the heart of campus life. This day was packed with fun, friendly competition, and opportunities for students to connect and engage with one another.
As new students arrived on campus, Station Game Day offered them a glimpse of the lively extracurricular scene at UoSM. Various gaming stations, team-building activities, and social interactions helped break the ice between freshers and seniors, fostering an environment where everyone felt included. From virtual games to physical challenges, the day had something for everyone, making it an unforgettable introduction to UoSM.
The event wasn’t just about entertainment; it was also a chance for students to learn more about UoSM’s diverse clubs and societies. Representatives from various student organisations were present to showcase how these extracurricular activities can enhance academic experiences and provide personal growth opportunities. Through these interactions, students began to see how getting involved on campus can support their studies, build their leadership skills, and create lasting friendships.
For many, Station Game Day was more than just a fun-filled experience—it was the first step in making UoSM their home. By bringing students together in an atmosphere of excitement and camaraderie, the IEEE Student Branch helped create meaningful connections that will enrich their university journeys for years to come.
With the event's success, the energy and enthusiasm of UoSM’s student community are more alive than ever. We hope this event sparked curiosity among attendees to explore more of what UoSM has to offer, whether through academic programmes, student societies, or campus events. Stay tuned for more activities as we continue to build a dynamic and inclusive university community!
