ConnectHER
Events

On 20th February 2025, the University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) proudly hosted The Asia Foundation for the official launch of the STEM ConnectHER programme. This landmark initiative is dedicated to encouraging and supporting more women to pursue and excel in STEM careers, fostering a more inclusive and diverse future in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The STEM ConnectHER programme is designed to address the gender gap in STEM by providing aspiring female scientists, engineers, and technologists with mentorship, resources, and opportunities to develop their skills and confidence. Through workshops, networking sessions, and hands-on learning experiences, the initiative aims to empower women to break barriers and thrive in STEM fields.

The launch event brought together students, faculty members, industry leaders, and representatives from The Asia Foundation to discuss the importance of gender inclusivity in STEM and explore strategies for creating lasting impact. Distinguished speakers shared insights on the challenges and opportunities for women in STEM, emphasising the need for collaborative efforts to drive meaningful change.

This collaboration between UoSM and The Asia Foundation marks a significant step toward cultivating an environment where women are encouraged to lead, innovate, and inspire in STEM. By working together, both organisations are committed to shaping a future where talent and potential, regardless of gender, are fully realised.

As we move forward with this initiative, we look forward to seeing the positive impact of STEM ConnectHER on our students and the broader STEM community. Here’s to a future where more women take center stage in shaping the world through science and technology!
