In an exciting new chapter for the University of Southampton Malaysia (UoSM) and the Malaysian-American Commission on Educational Exchange (MACEE), the two institutions have successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration, facilitated by Prof. Pu Suan Hui from UoSM’s School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, with key coordination from Asst. Prof. Dr. Adrian Tan, UoSM Enterprise Lead, and Datin Sharifah Ikhlas AlJaffree, MACEE’s External Relations Specialist, signifies a shared commitment to advancing academic collaboration, fostering cultural exchange, and driving educational progress.
The MoU was officially signed by Prof. Rebecca Taylor, CEO of UoSM, and Ir. Dr. Pieter Pottas, COO of UoSM, alongside MACEE’s Executive Director Mr. Curtis Johnson and Fulbright Senior Program Manager Ms. Teoh Tze Imm. This partnership opens doors for exciting academic exchanges, joint projects, and expanded opportunities for students and faculty alike.
As part of the event, UoSM was honored to host a thought-provoking talk by Mr. Curtis Johnson, titled “The Fulbright Program: Connecting Malaysia to the World.” Speaking to an audience of around 150 attendees, Mr. Johnson emphasised the transformative power of the Fulbright Program in fostering global connections and providing life-changing opportunities for scholars and students. The Fulbright Scholarship, a prestigious international exchange initiative, has long played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape, creating bridges between nations, and offering a platform for intellectual and cultural growth.
This collaboration between UoSM and MACEE represents a significant milestone, reflecting a shared vision for educational advancement and cultural diplomacy.
