Project Abstract
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) are one of the most promising and revolutionary techniques for enhancing the spectrum and energy efficiency of 6G wireless systems. These devices are capable of reconfiguring the wireless propagation environment by carefully tuning the phase shifts of a large number of low-cost passive reflecting elements.
In the proposed research work, the robust design problem of the phase shift matrix will be developed for an RIS assisting a multi-user multi-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) system in the presence of imperfect channel state information (CSI) due to the usage of a sub-optimal channel estimation technique and obstacles. The performance of the proposed method can be validated using the numerical examples and simulation tools.
